Sage Holloway is a misfit at home, school, and every other conceivable place. Her parents have always found sane, logical explanations for her conviction that certain people have eyes that are ringed with blue flame. Sage discovers that the fire-blue-eyed people are angels when Sidriel, a Cherub, saves her from a demon’s attack. She agrees to train with Sidriel to become a warrior and defeat the demons, but not long after her studies begin, she finds out that Azrael, the fearsome Angel of Death, is conspiring with the demons to destroy the Earth. Even though she has much to learn, Sage takes to the road with Sidriel to stop Azrael and all the other angels and demons in the way.
